| Elections The members shown below were elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the London Health and Safety Group at the Annual General Meeting in April. Volunteers The success of the Group is vitally dependent on the enterprise and enthusiasm of the committee members. Hence the following description of the committee's role is given in the hope of encouraging you to consider joining the committee. Activities The main activity is organising the monthly meetings and annual visit. This needs project management and organisational skills. Marketing skills are also needed to maintain the interest of members by the judicious selection of topics and speakers. In addition, effective administrative skills are needed for |
dealing
with essential communications, maintaining the membership data
base,
accounting for the income and expenditure, etc. Goodwill Since the Group started in 1941, it has built up an impressive fund of goodwill. The committee is keen to foster contacts and mobilize goodwill for advice and sponsorship that enhance the running of the Group. Personal Value It is possible to view the Group as a small enterprise. Hence becoming involved with the committee could be useful as a career enhancing experience that could be valued by your employer or IOSH.
